ROBOWAR’S 2010
At a technical festival held at IIT Powai, 140 teams had registered for rob wars. 65 teams qualified after the abstract submission. GCET’s bot ‘THE DEMOLISHERS’ was able to make it to the top 16 teams. The first match was with Punjab Engg. College, Chandigarh. GCET recorded the shortest time winning match of TECHFEST’s history. The bot weighed 30kg and the weapon was pneumatically operated. ’THE DEMOLISHERS’ was also most talked about robot for the design. Even the national news channel (TV9) was impressed by the robot design and interviewed the team. The team comprises 6 students of Mechatronics Engg Dept and 2 students from Mechanical Engg Dept. Mr. Saurin Sheth was the Faculty convener for the same.
A.N.T.Z Indian Leg Techfest ’10
During academic year 2009-10, 2nd year EC (GTU) Students secured 7th position in A.N.T.Z Indian Leg Techfest ’10 at IIT- Bombay which is the all India level event.
More than 400 students participated in various technical festivals like Techfest ‘10 at IIT-Bombay, Mindbend -10 at SVNIT, Technofora -10, Ingenium-10, Chemozole-10 at Nirma Institute of technology, Footprints at M.S.U, Clarotechnico -10 at DDIT Nadiad, Convergence-10 at Ganpat University, Kherva, Prakarsh -10 at SVIT,vasad Aahvan-10 at Babaria Institute Of Technology, Conquest 2010 at SVMI Bharuch, Projection-10 at PIT Valia, Ritcher 2010 ADIT, and Brahmaastra 09 BVM. In this academic year more than 110 students could secure 1st, 2nd or 3rd position as mentioned above.Recently at spectrum 10 held at ADIT many GCETIANS grabed top 3 positions. To be more specific one event named as line follower were all the 3 positions were grabed by GCET.
